When you are selecting the Platypus mounting location in the machinery, pay attention to the following mounting location requirements:
Platypus must not restrict or prevent the normal use of the equipment. Furthermore, Platypus must not limit the driver's field of vision to the vehicle controls or outside.
Reserve at least 10 cm room for Platypus connectors.
Never mount Platypus in front of an airbag or any other vehicle safety device.
The mounting location must allow trouble-free cabling.
The mounting location must be such that Platypus can be fastened properly. It must also be possible to unfasten Platypus.
Select also the mounting location for antennas. The location requirements for different antennas are described below:
The GPRS antenna can be mounted anywhere in the target machinery.
The Bluetooth antenna must be mounted outside the target machinery. A metal casing can interfere the Bluetooth transmission signal.
The mounting location should be safe from accidental shocks.
The mounting location should be such that you can connect a laptop computer to Platypus by using a specific connection cable.
